How to use

What is the difference between MB and MiB?

MB is decimal: 1 MB = 1,000,000 bytes. MiB is binary: 1 MiB = 1,048,576 bytes.

Why does my drive show less space than advertised?

Manufacturers advertise decimal capacities while some systems display binary units, so a 1 TB drive may show about 931 GiB.
